The annual Eat-Drink-Design Awards recognize design innovation and excellence across six categories in hospitality premises of all scales and types, food and beverage retail environments, and visual identities. It is the only awards program in Australasia that celebrates the relationship between eating and drinking experiences and good design.
In 2013 the jury has shortlisted eighty-one projects from across Australia and New Zealand. Bringing together the expertise and experience of the design and hospitality communities, the judging panel for 2013 comprised chef and restaurateur Christine Manfield, author and food writer John Birmingham, architect Domenic Alvaro, design writer Rachel Hurst and Cameron Bruhn of Architecture Media.
Reflecting on the role the awards play in the promotion of Australia’s best venues, juror Christine Manfield said, “The Eat-Drink-Design Awards are an inspired incentive for the hospitality industry and create ongoing benchmarks of excellence in Australia.”
“These awards recognize the unique character of well-designed environments. These environments connect with people on an emotional level and showcase effortless conviviality in order to create something special.”
