2015 South Australian Landscape Architecture Awards

The 2015 South Australian Landscape Architecture Awards were announced by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects on 4 September.

Among the 13 projects recognized by the jury, the Adelaide Botanic Gardens Wetlands took out the state’s highest honour, the South Australian Medal for Landscape Architecture. The wetlands “provide a series of immersive experiences which engage with the natural environment in a creative and innovative way,” said the jury.

The jury also noted the “increased sophistication of various modes of engagement, whether with fellow consultants, clients or increasingly diverse users,” said jury chair Jo Russell-Clarke. “This bodes well for evolving the profession to help with the ever-shifting socio-environmental problems we tackle.”
