Good critical writing is an essential skill if the story of architectural achievement is to be told well. In a time of tweets and blogs, the Architecture Australia award for best critical writing is offered through the ISDA (Institute of Sustainable Development and Architecture) Awards at Bond University to encourage the next generation of architectural writers.

The first recipient of this award was Jordan Mulherin, who is a second year student in the Bachelor of Architectural Studies program. The award was presented by Gavan Ranger, chairman of Architecture Media, which publishes Architecture Australia, the national magazine of the Australian Institute of Architects.
