Blum products used in Art House One

Art House One, an environmentally sensitive house in Armidale, features Blum fittings.

Art House One is a prototype for a range of housing being developed by Kylie Mitchell Designs. The aim of the house is to combine art, building, compact sustainable design and sustainable living. It is a piece of art that challenges the traditional perceptions of living and housing. Mitchell hopes the house will encourage visitors to question the way they view and interact with their spaces.

A single abstract theme has been carried through the external facade to the internal walls, furniture and kitchen finishes, producing a single, lived-in artwork. The house is a total of seventy-two square metres internally; simple construction techniques have been used to keep building costs to a minimum. This enabled a greater focus on sustainable elements such as high levels of insulation and timber double-glazed windows.

The project incorporates Blum products such as Tandembox Intivo, Sink drawer, Orga-Line and the space efficient pullout pantry. A total of twenty-nine Tandembox Intivo drawers in Silk white and Terra black were used throughout the house.

Located at 68 Butler Street, Armidale, NSW, Art House One will be open to the public 30 March – 28 April, 2012.
