The 2012 Corporate Culture Design Journey Competition is now open for entries. The annual competition was established in 2004 to give young Australian and New Zealand industrial designers the chance to have their work prototyped, produced and put into Corporate Culture’s permanent collection.
This year’s competition brief is to design a suspended LED lighting pendant for residential and commercial use. The pendant must be glare-free and use internal reflector(s) or similar. Entries will be judged on originality, functionality, presentation, environmental considerations and, of course, aesthetics.
Entries close 7 December 2012. The winning designer will also receive a trip to Copenhagen to meet the Fritz Hansen head of design, Rolf Hay, who is part of the judging team with industrial designer Kasper Salto, architect Alex Tzannes and others.
