The Ephemeralist ping pong table

Perth-based company Public Outdoor Ping Pong (POPP) has launched a new addition to its suite of tables, the Ephemeralist. Channelling a mid-century modernist sensibility through sleekly minimal lines, the table was launched with a permanent installation at the MLC Centre in Sydney’s Martin Place in July 2014.

Bloom

Designed by Alisa Andrasek, Bloom is an urban toy, a distributed social game and collective “gardening” experience that seeks the engagement of people in order to construct fuzzy Bloom formations. The collective act of coming to one place and building something becomes a shared memory for each person attending. None of the pieces do anything on their own; it’s only by putting thousands of them together when the game and the Bloom garden emerge.

Genesis Net Climber

This is (apparently) the tallest net structure in the world! Soaring to an exhilarating 15 metres in height, the Genesis Net Climber from Viva Recreation is a giant spiders web of climbable rope suspended from a central steel pole. The structure has a capacity for up to 250 climbers – essentially making it a playground in its own right.
