Meet Finley, a bed that gets better with age. Finley has an American oak frame and is available with a vegetable-tanned leather sling (pictured, and my preferred option) or a timber headboard. Designed by Jardan Lab, the bed’s honest design and raw materials echo a modernist aesthetic.

The Now! Boxspring bed is available with two different headboards – the design with piping adds an elegant, subtle touch, while the cushioned headboard delivers a sumptuous and comfortable feel. To mark the twentieth birthday of Now!, three special colours have been added: Corn Yellow (yellow), Carambola (lime) and Plum (purple).

This is a bed for those of you looking to make a statement in the bedroom (I know I am). Made of Inox wire that has been rustically curved and finished with a coating that contains gold, this eccentric bed is designed by Fernando and Humberto Campana for Edra.

Aran bed
Designed by Adam Goodrum for Cult, the Aran bed is part of a new suite of furniture that also includes an armchair and two-seater sofa. With a layer of engineered foam inbuilt into the bedhead, you don’t need to steal your partner’s pillow when sitting up to read at night or eat breakfast in the morning. With a solid timber base, these beds are available in hand-stitched and piped fabric or leather.

Ruche bed
Ligne Roset’s Ruche bed is lifted off the ground on a simple, wood structure and a layer of quilted fabric appears to drape over this frame. Due to its distinctive quilting, the fabric “curls” in places giving rise to the name of the bed, “Ruche” (a gathered or pleated fabric which serves as a decoration on a piece of clothing). The combination of the straight lines of the base with the soft, welcoming curves of the fabric gives this bed its aesthetic appeal. This bed was recently a part of Domo’s Living It Large in Small Space exhibition curated by Hecker Guthrie.
