Exhibition: People Building Better Cities

The travelling international exhibition People Building Better Cities: Participation and Inclusive Urbanization, comes to Sydney for April–May 2013, with a program of public talks.

The travelling international exhibition People Building Better Cities: Participation and Inclusive Urbanization (PBBC) comes to Sydney during April-May 2013 to exchange knowledge, build networks, and promote dialogue between communities, urban professionals, universities, non-governmental organizations, and policy makers on the challenges of inclusive urbanization and climate change. The exhibition will visit ten countries in all including China, India, Philippines, South Africa and the United States, having already been to Thailand in February and Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) in March.

While the exhibition’s focus is on developing countries, it speaks to urban issues in developed countries such as growing inequality and climate change. Associated public events in each city of the ten countries will localize the exhibition content. Led by Anna Rubbo, PBBC is a joint project of Global Studio and Columbia University’s Center for Sustainable Urban Development, and has been made possible by the SAPPI Ideas That Matter grant. The Sydney edition of People Building Better Cities includes the following program.
