2011 Houses Awards high commendations gallery

When the inaugural Houses Awards were presented at the Plaza Ballroom in Melbourne in July 2011, twenty-one projects received high commendations over seven categories – New House under 200m²; New House over 200m²; House Alteration and Additions under 200m²; House Alteration and Additions over 200m²; Apartment, Unit or Townhouse; and Outdoor and Sustainability. The projects were judged by a well-respected jury made up of Camilla Block of Durbach Block Jaggers; Paul Owen of Owen & Vokes; Kerry Phelan of Kerry Phelan Design Office; Brian Zulaikha, the national president of the Australian Institute of Architects and director of Tonkin Zulaikha Greer; Cameron Bruhn of Architecture Media; and Scott Drake of the University of Melbourne.
