Ninety-seven of the one hundred locations that will be open as part of the 2012 Open House Melbourne have been announced. The final three locations will be announced on the Open House Melbourne website and social media closer to the event, which will be held 28–29 July.

Highlights of the list of locations include the new Royal Children’s Hospital by Billard Leece Partnership and Bates Smart, 131–141 Queen Street by Bent Architecture, Lyons Architecture office by NMBW Architecture Studio, and the newly completed Hamer Hall redevelopment by ARM.

As part of Open House Melbourne, there will be a speaker series on 26 June and 10 July. The first session will be held at BMW Edge at Federation Square where Peter McIntyre, Jim Sinatra, Gregory Burgess, Sue Carr, Scott Adams and John Denton will speak. The second session will be at Capitol Theatre on Swanston Street where Andrew Dodd, Roger Wood, Fiona Dunin, Claire Johnston, Mark Jacques and Mark Kelly will speak.
