Symposium to explore future of housing

An upcoming symposium at Melbourne’s NGV International will bring together Australian and international housing experts to explore how the way we inhabit our world is changing.

Entitled Housing Futures, the symposium’s keynote presenters include Charles Renfro (Diller Scofidio + Renfro, New York), Kerstin Thompson (Kerstin Thompson Architects, Melbourne) and Philip Thalis (Hill Thalis Architecture, Sydney), who will examine new tendencies in the design of everything from individual dwellings and apartments to aged, multigenerational and student housing.

These keynote presentations will be interwoven with moderated panel discussions that draw on the experience and expertise of industry leaders Eli Giannini (MGS Architects, Melbourne), Marcus Foth (QUT, Brisbane), Shelley Penn (Shelley Penn Architect, Melbourne) and Ben Hewett (Director of Strategic Service, NSW Government Architects’s Office, Sydney).

Presented by Architecture Media, the forum will be co-located with the 2015 Houses Awards presentation, to be held that evening.
