Winners of the 2015 House Awards will be announced at a gala presentation on 31 July in the Great Hall of the National Gallery of Victoria.
Presented by Houses magazine, the Houses Awards is an annual program celebrating Australia’s best residential projects.
Excellence is rewarded in nine project categories, with the best house receiving the premier award of Australian House of the Year. The winner of this premier award stands to take home a $5,000 cash prize. In 2015, a new category of Emerging Practice was added to the program.
The awards presentation will be MC-ed by comedian and broadcaster Tim “Rosso” Ross. Ross is a self-confessed nutty modernist who has toured the country and parts of the USA with his show, Man About the House. His Sydney home is a shrine to modernist architecture, furniture and object and he has performed in iconic buildings including the Robin Boyd Walsh Street House, Boyd Education Centre, Rose Seidler House, and Hotel Lautner in Palm Springs, California.
The Houses Awards are among Australia’s most sought-after accolades for residential work. Each year, the Houses Awards entries provide a unique insight into contemporary residential design and the contribution Australia’s architects and designers make to enhancing the way we live today.
