PIA’s 2016 Planning Congress

The Planning Institute of Australia will hold its Planning Congress from 11-13 May at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This year’s congress invites attendees to explore the new Brisbane. The 2016 congress isn’t just about inspiring people, but about practical application.

Talks will include great innovators and innovations that are transforming the planning profession and making ideals a reality. There will also be a focus on implementation, which sits at the heart of the planning industry.

The 2016 study tours include walking tours which explore the completed and ongoing transformations in the city laneways and small spaces and the Brisbane (New World City) Tour which allows you to experience capital city land use and transport integration as you bus, ferry and walk to see Brisbane’s transformation to a “new world city.”

The congress includes talks workshops on topics such as inspired planning practice, social media for planners, and innovation in creating future cities, as well as social functions including the National Awards and Urban Food Fest.
