Ballarat’s International Foto Biennale, a celebration of Australian and international photgraphy, will celebrate its sixth year this year. The event will run for a month – from 22 August to 20 September 2015.
Interpretations of architecture and design photography will form one of the key themes of the event, and the program involves 21 photographic artists exhibiting their work in seven heritage buildings in Ballarat, a historic regional city that rose to prominence during Victoria’s gold rush era.
The event will feature a symposium, workshops as well as a core program of exhibitions.
German photographer Thomas Kellner will be visiting to open his exhibition, Genius Loci. Kellner has a unique method in his photography that visually deconstructs architectural icons.
Melbourne architecural and landscape photographer Ben Wrigley will also present his installation, The Dream Machine.
