Parlour: WikiD writing workshops

The upcoming WikiD writing workshops being held in Melbourne, Berlin and New York will aim to write more female built environment professionals into Wikipedia. Australian gender equity organization Parlour, Germany’s n-ails and Architexx from the US have organized the workshops after being granted funding from Wikimedia’s Inspire Campaign to carry out the work.

WikiD: Women, Wikipedia is the name of the program that was set up by the three organizations to provide education and advocacy to help increase the number of women in architecture and the built environment recognized on Wikipedia.

Architecture-specific guides will be provided to assist those writing and editing the contributions.

The Melbourne event will take place on Sunday 13 September at Monash Art Design and Architecture (MADA) at the Caulfield campus of Monash University.
