A house that “epitomises the Sunshine Coast school of architecture” has received top honours at the Australian Institute of Architects’ 2022 Sunshine Regional Coast Architecture Awards.
Ridgewood House by Robinson Architects which won the Gabriel Poole Award for House of the Year was described by the jury as a project that “exemplifies a considered and rigorous response to site and its subtropical context.”
“This project draws you deep into the experience of place with a refreshing inventiveness and lightness of touch,” the jury said in its citation.
The Sunshine Coast awards were announced on Friday 27 May. Winners and recipients of regional commendations will progress to the Queensland Architecture Awards to be announced on 24 June.
