Nine Australian projects are among the winners of the annual American Architecture Prize, which found PWP Landscape Architecture and Johnson Pilton Walker’s Barangaroo Reserve to be the best landscape design of the year.

The 2017 Landscape Design of the Year is one of three best in show awards, with Hengqin International Financial Center by Aedas claiming Architectural Design of the Year and The Attic – Flamingo Shanghai Office by Neri and Hu clinching the prize for Interior Design of the Year.

Elsewhere, FJMT’s EY Centre on Sydney’s George Street won a number of awards, including prizes for commercial architecture and in the “Tall Buildings” category.

Iredale Pedersen Hook Architects won three awards for three different projects: Walumba Elders Centre, CASA31_4 Room House and an orangutan enclosure at Perth Zoological Gardens.

Awards were given to projects across 41 categories in the fields of architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture.
