D Line introduces home automation with Friday Lock

Danish architectural hardware brand D Line has introduced the Friday Lock to its portfolio of lever handles and locks.

The Friday Lock is designed by BIG Ideas, the innovation division of Bjarke Ingels Group. The smart lock allows a user automated home access.

The Friday Lock has a curved silhouette inspired by the form of a saddle roof, which is characterised by a convex curve in one axis and a concave curve in the other.

It has six interchangeable outer shells finished in steel, brass, copper, nickel stain, bronze and gun metal.

Friday Lock can be automatically opened or secured as the user approaches or leaves home. It can also be remotely operated from anywhere in the world to gain ad hoc permission to enter. The Friday Lock can be access via the Friday Home app and it also works with pple HomeKit, which controls the lighting, ventilation, security and thermostat settings.

Friday Lock is distributed by D Line.
