Dark Fairytale carpets from Brintons

International carpet supplier Brintons has launched Dark Fairytale by US designer Stacy Garcia.

In creating the collection, Garcia was inspired by the desire to escape into a story. Influenced by darkness and drama, the collection brings to life the mystique and intrigue of fairytales gone awry with shadowy imagery, forest tones and Gothic influences.

The designs in the collection, launched on 16 May, can be woven as soon as they are ordered. The designs can be recoloured and rescaled, or different elements of them can be combined to create a new pattern. The design is then woven into an Axminster carpet – using 80 percent wool and 20 percent nylon for durability and softness – or into a hand-tufted rug.

This is the fourth collection that Garcia and Brintons have collaborated on. “This collection is born through a desire for action; we are finished with the status quo and have the confidence to challenge the conventional,” explains Garcia. “Thanks to Brintons’ technical expertise when working with Axminster, I have been able to incorporate layers of detail to give the whole collection depth and character.”

Founder and CEO of the Stacy Garcia lifestyle brand and LebaTex, Garcia is respected for her inventive use of color and design skills. Garcia’s designs are informed by a history of working with hotel chains such as Hilton, Marriott, Doubletree and Holiday Inn.

The collection is available through Brintons in Australia.
