Thirteen Australian projects have been shortlisted in the 2020 Dezeen Awards. In the third year of the awards program by the popular design blog, more than 4,300 entries were received from more than 80 countries.
Among the Australian projects shortlisted is Bismarck House by Andrew Burges Architects, which is shortlisted three times across both the Architecture and Interiors categories.
The program is divided into three main category groups: interiors, design and architecture. Special studio awards will recognize all-round design excellence for a body of work.
The awards are judged by a legion of 75 international architects, designers and academics, including Australians Matt Gibson (founder of Matt Gibson Architecture and Design), Rob Mills (founder and creative director of Rob Mills Architecture and Interiors), Brad Wray (co-founder of Branch Studio Architects) and Katelin Butler (editorial director of Architecture Media, which publishes ArchitectureAU.com).
In 2020, Dezeen Awards have introduced a public vote, which is open until 12 October. The winners of the popular vote will be announced on 16 October, while the jurors’ winners will be announced from 4 to 6 November.
