The eighth instalment of the Intergrain Timber Vision Awards, which recognizes projects across Australia and New Zealand that have used timber in creative and inspiring ways, is now accepting entries.
Intergrain senior brand manager Sonia Tousis said, “It’s an exciting time for the industry. Timber continues to be a preferred material for design professionals with an ever-evolving breadth of solid, modified and engineered timber options.”
Prizes worth $2,000 will be awarded to the best uses of timber in Residential Interior, Residential Exterior, Commercial Interior, Commercial Exterior and Landscape categories. In addition to the cash prize, winners will also receive up to 100 litres of Intergrain timber finish products and publication in the November/December 2017 issue of Architecture Australia.
The awards are free to enter and all entries that used Intergrain timber finishes are eligible for a $15,000 Travel Bursary. Cumulus Studio won the bursary in 2016.
The 2016 overall winner was the McCulloch Avenue Boardwalk by Site Office. The full list of winners of last year’s awards can be read here.
The judging panel includes Bronwen Kerr (director, Kerr Ritchie Architects), Maria Danos (Maria Danos Architecture), Cameron Bruhn (editorial director, Architecture Media) and Geoffrey London (professor of architecture, University of Western Australia).
A shortlist will be announced after entries close on 9 July. Winners will be awarded at the Intergrain Timber Vision Awards Breakfast in September.
