Gensler appoints design director for Sydney operation

Global architecture and design firm Gensler has appointed Ken McBryde as the design director of its Sydney operation.

Gensler said the appointment marks a “significant step” for its Sydney practice, bolstering its standing as a multidisciplinary architectural design studio offering urban design, architecture, master planning and consulting capabilities.

McBryde brings with him vast expertise in designing and managing global projects as an award-winning architect. He is widely respected in the industry for his track-record in delivering smart buildings, and mixed use and commercial projects.

With more than 30 years’ experience, McBryde’s combination of international and domestic work includes a diversity of multi-residential, commercial, educational and cultural projects.

“At Gensler Sydney, we believe in taking an integrated approach to create a better world through the power of design,” said Gensler Sydney managing director Tom Owens.

“Ken’s depth of experience and unparalleled insight will be a huge asset to the firm as we continue to grow our architecture practice.”

In the new role, McBryde will work across departments and studios to support the firm’s growth across Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
