Kristi Wayman joins Nic Brunsdon

Kristi Wayman has been appointed as Sydney director at Nic Brunsdon, an architecture studio operating locally and internationally from Perth, Sydney, and Denpasar, Indonesia

Wayman was previously an associate director at Turner, responsible for leading the business development, client relations, and project performance of the interior architecture functions of the studio across hotels, residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. She has experience across small- to large-scale building types throughout Australia and Asia, having worked on landmark projects including One and Only (Emirates) Wolgan Valley and Saffire Freycinet Tasmania, East End Newcastle by Iris Capital, Landing at Sanctuary, and Lumia at The Orchards Norwest by Sekisui House Australia.

“We’re so excited to have someone of Kristi’s talent and reputation joining our team,” said Nic Brunsdon, director of the firm. “Her experience across multiple business areas and her standing in the industry is exceptional. We warmly welcome her to our leadership group to oversee the design, strategic positioning, and growth of our studio and are immensely excited about the next phase of our practice with her as a key partner.”

Kristi said of her approach to design, “Great projects are those that get better with time. Where everyone involved has had their voice heard and the project is right, empathetic, and beautiful. This comes from the ability to listen to the brief, work collaboratively with others, and then build a sympathetic response. Those are successful projects.

“Nic is a visionary with his work and with growing the practice. We complement each other well and have the same values and standards. We are fortunate to have a strong team from across Australia who will bring together their expertise and insights to design and leadership.”
