Maison&Objet Asia 2016

Returning to Singapore from 8 to 11 March, design exhibition Maison&Objet Asia will showcase innovative design solutions.

A highlight of this year’s exhibition is the Interior Design & Lifestyle Summit, which will see presentations from renowned experts across the Asia Pacific region, including Australians Australians Paul Hecker and Hamish Guthrie (Hecker Guthrie), Hong Kong-based industrial designer Michael Young and M&O Asia’s Designer of the Year André Fu.

The summit features 20 different discussions across five categories:

Keynote with presentations from André Fu, Ryu Kosaka (Aoyama Nomura Design, Japan), Michael Young, Suyong Joh (JOH & Company, Korea) and Tony Chi (Tony Chi and Associates, New York).

Best of Interior Design will see Paul Hecker and Hamish Guthrie from Australia discuss authentic, considered design, moderated by Cameron Bruhn, editorial director of Architecture Media.

Andre Fu and Andreas Stalder from Hyatt Hotels Asia Pacific will discuss timeless Hospitality Design.

Chris Godfrey of HBA Residential will illustrate how space, light, materiality, placement, and atmosphere can create refined beauty.

Conversation and Agenda includes panel discussions with Ken Okuyama, Colin Seah, Hoo Cheong Fong, Lekker Architects, Foreign Policy Design and Stanley Ruiz.

Country Focus features discussion on latest development in key countries in the region such as the Australian hospitality market, the influence of Chinese aesthetics on Asian contemporary design, and the rise of Thailand as hub for design in South East Asia.

Maison&Objet will also again include the Rising Asian Talents showcase, which this year includes Australian studio Lab de Stu in the lineup.
