Denton Corker Marshall and influential Chinese real estate developer Beijing Zhongkun Investment Group will sign an agreement formalizing their partnership in Beijing on 12 October.
Melbourne’s lord mayor Robert Doyle and a vice-mayor of Beijing will witness the agreement, which is designed to strengthen economic ties between Australia and China.
The first project on which Denton Corker Marshall and Beijing Zhongkun Investment Group collaborated was completed last year. Another project, the Luoying Vineyard, is now in stage two of development and includes a winery, cellars, wine-tasting facilities, art gallery, restaurants, a day spa and a conference venue.
Denton Corker Marshall is one of the most successful design practices operating out of Australia, with completed projects in more than twenty countries. Around 35 percent of the firm’s revenue comes from China. Its association with China began in 1982 with the design of the Australian Embassy in Beijing, and has since extended to large scale master-planning work, landmark developments, residential towers, infrastructure, hotels and major retail centres.
