New digs for Living Edge

Living Edge is the newest tenant to move into The Woolstores – a new boutique retail precinct in Alexandria, Sydney. The precinct comprises three historic sheds, over 3000 square metres each, that were built during World War II. Living Edge shares Shed 74 with fellow tenant Swarovski.

The interior, designed by Woods Bagot, features an eight-metre-high lobby that retains the original exposed timber trusses, complemented by recycled timber floorboards. Polished concrete is used throughout, balanced by the aged timbers of the base building and American oak, stained various colours. Double-height window displays greet visitors exploring the Woolstores precinct.

The showroom provides an immersive space to present Living Edge’s brands, including Herman Miller, Walter Knoll and BassamFellows. The space also includes a dedicated accessories areas featuring soft furnishings, cushions, rugs and textiles from the likes of Vitra, Muuto, e15 and Marc Newson by Noritake. On the mezzanine level, the Herman Miller-designed “Living Office” showcases a range of commercial products. The 1900-square-metre space brings both retail and contract offerings under the one roof.

The Woolstores showroom, which opened on 10 February 2015, is the first national flagship showroom for Living Edge.
