Panasonic has announced an innovative range of FSV Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) airconditioners and the Flexi System Series – a new range of cassette and ducted airconditioning units.
FSV range
Thirteen outdoor unit models are available in single and three-phase configurations, with the indoor range consisting of seventy-three models across eleven types of units. The indoor capacities range from 2.2kW to 28kW, while the outdoor range offers models from 12.1kW (ideal for home or small shopfront use), through to 168kW (for commercial applications such as a large office, hotel or apartment block).
The FSV range operates in a temperature range of -25ºC to 46ºC. All new models are reverse cycle and are suitable for domestic and commercial settings.
The outdoor airconditioning units can attach up to sixty-four indoor units and feature a long piping length of up to one thousand metres.
For control purposes, buildings can be divided into zones to allow airconditioning to be switched off in areas that are not in use. The Intelligent Touch Screen Controller allows up to 256 indoor units to be monitored and controlled from a central point, while a System Controller allows central control of up to sixty-four units. Other features include wired and wireless controllers that give users control of individual units, and timer controllers for central controlling of daily and weekly timers.
Panasonic’s software allows up to 1,024 indoor units to be controlled by a single computer, either on site or remotely, and allows load distribution monitoring to accurately record the amount of power used by each tenant.
The system is designed by Intelligent Design software.
Flexi System Series
The Flexi System Series is suitable for smaller commercial and domestic environments. The range is compact and energy efficient.
The range is available in five capacities, from 6.0kw to 14.0kw, and operates in a range of -20ºC to 46ºC. The piping can be extended to thirty metres without additional gas charging, and up to seventy-five metres with additional gas charging.
The new cassette units are compact, with a height of just 256 millimetres to fit into narrow ceilings. The airflow discharge area has been redesigned to allow both a greater volume of airflow and greater air distribution throughout the room.
The new ducted units are available in five capacities from 6.0kw to 14.0kw. The high static pressure is selectable up to 150pa to allow long ductwork in large homes. The new models also feature sensor technology that prevents users experiencing any cold draughts when used in heating mode.
The same control systems as the FSV range are available for the Flexi System.
