Paul Kelly Design will be responsible for the club’s new hospitality precinct which will include various restaurants, lounges, entertainment areas and gaming floors.

The Sydney-based practice has worked on more than 500 hospitality venues, including a number of high profile projects such as The Ivanhoe Manly, Sokyo at The Star, The Oaks and The Bourbon.

“Paul has a reputation for pushing the boundaries and bringing spaces to life,” said Dale Hunt, general manager of Harbord Diggers. “His guidance will help us establish Harbord Diggers as more than just a club, but a world-class leisure and entertainment complex and a cherished community hub for all generations.”

The Harbord Diggers Club is located in Freshwater on Sydney’s northern beaches. In 2014, a consortium comprising Architectus, CHROFI and JMD Design won an invited design competition for the redevelopment, which will include a new club house, seniors’ living village, professional childcare facilities, a fitness centre and a public swimming pool.

The first stage of the redevelopment is expected to be completed in early 2018.
