The guest-edited Dossier section of the July/August issue of Architecture Australia on research in large practice will be launched at Hassell Studio in Melbourne on 31 July.
The dossier addresses the state of research in large architecture practices in Australia, examining the scope, ambition and impact of research activities on the business and culture of practice. It asks: “How can research secure and enlarge the architect’s influence?”
The roundtable event launching the dossier will see guest editors Naomi Stead and Sandra Kaji O’Grady moderate a discussion between key figures from some of Australia’s pre-eminent large practices.
On the panel will be: Michaela Sheahan, researcher at Hassell; Ninotschka Titchkosky, principal and strategic lead of digital innovation ground, BVN; Christian Derix, director at Woods Bagot Superspace; and Caillin Howard, managing director of Hames Sharley.
Cameron Bruhn, editorial director at Architecture Media, will deliver an introduction.
The event will be held on Tuesday 31 July from 6 pm untill 7.30 pm.
