The Green House: New Directions in Sustainable Architecture.
Green design is nothing new of course, but the architectural experimentation of the houses presented in this book certainly is. A suite of houses – from the deserts of Tucson, Arizona, to Australia’s own beachfronts – show just how quickly green design is growing among the progressive residential set.
The book looks in detail at the energy-efficient, low-impact systems employed by each house and, as the authors’ foreword points out, it is apparent just how quickly the walls between green architecture and high design are crumbling. And it seems from this book residential work is the trailblazer when it comes to green architecture.
