The Knight Kerr Room opens at Parliament House

On 28 June 2011, the President of the Legislative Council, the Honourable Bruce Atkinson M.L.C, officially opened the Knight Kerr Room at Parliament House, Victoria. The Knight Kerr room commemorates and recognizes the contribution made by architects John George Knight and Peter Kerr in the initial development of the design and building of Parliament House Melbourne.

Featured in the room are five original architectural drawings by Knight and Kerr and two photographic portraits of John George Knight and Peter Kerr.

The five original architectural drawings on loan from the Public Record Office Victoria will be on display until 1 August 2011. The Knight Kerr room will be included on tours of Parliament House on Sunday 31 July 2011 as a part of the Melbourne Open House weekend.
