Entries are now open for the 2016 Eat Drink Design Awards. The awards celebrate the best of hospitality design across Australia and New Zealand, and acknowledges the importance of the relationship between the designer and client when creating successful social venues.
Architects and designers are invited to submit projects across six categories: Best Bar Design, Best Restaurant Design, Best Cafe Design, Best Temporary Design, Best Retail Design and Best Identity Design.
The 2016 jury panel includes Hamish Guthrie (founding director of Hecker Guthrie), Adele Winteridge (founder of Foolscap Studio), Terry Durrack (author and restaurant critic for the Sydney Morning Herald), Julie Gibbs (publisher of the Lantern imprint at Penguin Australia from 2004–2015), and Cameron Bruhn (editorial director of Architecture Media).
Entries must be for individual venues designed primarily for hospitality use, for the retail of food and beverages, or visual identities for either of these project types, and must have been completed between 1 January 2015 and 30 June 2016. The project cannot have been previously entered in the Eat Drink Design Awards.
Each category winner will receive a prize of $1,500.
Entries close on 15 July. Eligibility information and entry details are available on the Eat Drink Design Awards website.
