World Architecture Festival

Held in Amsterdam, the World Architecture Festival gathers together more than 2,000 architects and designers from across the globe.

The festival is composed of a series of events and keynote speeches, and the World Architecture Festival Awards and the Inside Awards, which celebrate interior design.

Australian projects or projects being led by Australian architecture practices have been well represented across the more than 32 categories that make up the World Architecture Festival awards program in the past few years, with more than 50 Australian entries across the 536-strong shortlist in 2018.

Among the highest Australian achievers in 2018 were Chrofi and McGregor Coxall’s Maitland Riverlink and Conrad Gargett’s Piano Mill, which both won their respective categories. Allen Jack and Cottier and NH Architecture’s reference design for the Sydney Fish Market and Hayball’s design for a vertical school in South Melbourne have both previously won the Future Project of the Year award, the highest honour for an unbuilt project.

ArchitectureAU is a media partner for the event – check back for extensive coverage in the run-up to December.
