Concrete, Space, Light

Concrete, Space, Light, an exhibition of photography by five Adelaide architectural photographers, will run from 21 March to 25 April at the Light Gallery, Adelaide.

Images by Peter Barnes, Wayne Grivell, Benjamin Liew, Gary Sauer-Thompson and Mark Zed represent a response to the relative lack of a local visual history of Adelaide architectural photographers. It is a present-day examination of how modernism’s forms of concrete, glass, light and shadow are constructed into abstract compositions and then renew them..

A wide range of imagery will be on show, from ordinary alleyways, buildings in the Adelaide CBD from above, and the new SAHMRI building and Desalination Plant that are making their way into Adelaide’s visual imagination.

Tim Horton, CEO of the Committee of Adelaide, will open the exhibition on Friday 21 March, 6–8pm.
