The University of Sydney’s School of Architecture, Design and Planning will present over 240 architectural models and drawings as part of its 2017 Architecture Graduate Exhibition.
The presented projects include designs for the rehabilitation of the Bays Precinct, hypothetical museums, public spaces in Hyde Park and solutions for Australia’s expansive cities as they shift to higher density development.
Senior lecturer and exhibition designer François Blanciak said, “The exhibition is designed around the idea of extending our reach towards the city. We call it a work of ‘exhibition urbanism’.
“It features a series of structures illustrating a large dotted circle that travels out of the Wilkinson Building, as a means of unifying the different architecture degrees, spaces and student works presented across the exhibition.”
The exhibition will be officially opened by Deborah Dearing, president of the NSW Architects Registration Board, on 30 November.
