Cinecity Architectural Film Project 2014

The Cinecity Architectural Film Project curated for the 2014 National Architecture Conference – Making – comes to Southbank Melbourne on 25 July. Thirty shortlisted films from the 2014 project were screened in Perth on 9 May as part of the Making Fun fringe events, followed by a screening at the VIVID Sydney Festival.

The brief for the 2014 project was for films to touch on the conference theme of “making”. The overall winning film was Sound and Vision by Irish artist Francis Matthews. Judging was by an international panel including: architect Zaha Hadid, film-maker Tony Hill, Victorian Government Architect Geoffrey London, professor Francois Penz (Cambridge), Sydney architect and arts patron Penelope Seidler, Perth architect Emma Williamson (CODA Studio) and Making 2014 creative directors Sam Crawford, Adam Haddow and Helen Norrie.

The Cinecity Architecture Film Project website lists all winning and commended films. Established in 2009, CINECITY Architectural Film Project is run collaboratively by architects and film makers, inviting local and international submissions of 60-second films exploring spatial ideas.
