The 2014 Victorian Architecture Awards will be presented 20 June at Peninsula, at Central Pier in Docklands. Recognizing excellence in design and architecture, the awards this year attracted over 200 entries from across Melbourne and regional Victoria, dominated by community, health, arts and education projects. In all, winners of twelve categories will be presented including Victorian Architecture Medal, awarded to the most outstanding project in all categories. The winners will then progress to National Architecture Awards held in Sydney on 6 November.
Prior to the awards presentation, the Australian Institute of Architects Victorian Chapter will hold a public exhibition of all entries in the atrium and Federation Square (2–16 June). The exhibition, which includes videos created by the entrants, is an opporunity for Victorians to see how design is shaping the city and an insight into the design process.
