Woods Bagot’s global design leader Domenic Alvaro will deliver the next C+A Talk, a speaking series organized by Cement Concrete and Aggregates Australia (CCAA) and C+A magazine.
To be held at the National Gallery of Victoria on 16 October, the talk will see Alvaro talk about his practice and process throughout a career that has included the design of large-scale transport facilities, major commercial buildings, and single family homes across Australia and further afield.
Among Alvaro’s past projects are Sydney’s Ivy, Wynard Walk, Small House, Paramount Office and his own “TARDIS” family home.
Of his more recent projects, the Short Lane apartment building has drawn attention for its distinctive, foliage-laden facade. The building won an award at the 2018 NSW Architecture Awards in the Residential Architecture – Multiple Housing category, and is shortlisted in the World Architecture Festival Awards, which will be announced in Amsterdam from 28 to 30 November.
