Understanding the Design and Building Practitioners Bill 2020 (NSW)

Informed by Planned Cover is putting on a webinar this July to explain the key features of the Design and Building Practitioners Bill 2020, which has passed both houses of the NSW parliament and is currently awaiting assent.

The bill forms part of the NSW government’s response to the Shergold Weir report and the new requirements which it introduces will impact many consultants working in the design and building sector in New South Wales.

Lander and Rogers solicitors Dearne Wellington and Elizabeth Berwick will explain the impact of the introduction of this legislation on consultants working in the construction industry. Amongst other things, Wellington and Berwick will discuss the increased regulation and compliance obligations on design and building practitioners under the legislation and the introduction of a statutory duty of care, which has already generated much discussion within the construction industry.
