Retrofit double glazing system – Magnetite

Magnetite is a magnetic secondary glazing system that attaches discreetly to the inside of a window reveal, creating an air cavity – the essence of double glazing.

Magnets are used to ensure an air-tight seal around the window when it is closed, and the size of the air cavity can be varied to cater for different needs. A larger air cavity provides noise reduction, whilst a narrower air cavity offers thermal insulation. The glazing itself is a clear, optical-grade acrylic, which is up to 6 times more thermally efficient and up to 18 times stronger than standard glass.

Magnetite has several models to suit existing windows: the Classic for almost any type of existing window, the Easy Glide for sliding windows and the Slider for sliding doors.

Magnetite is an ideal solution for heritage and period windows due to its slimline frame and ability to be cut to size.

  • Durable, optical-grade acrylic
  • Variable air cavity size to suit thermal or acoustic needs
  • Flexible enough for existing windows, including sliding windows and doors
  • Suitable for heritage and period windows
