The internationally acclaimed and eclectic designer Patricia Urquiola reveals the third generation of Laufen’s SaphirKeramik project: Sonar bathroom basins, bowls and tubs.

The collection is inspired by sound waves – specifically, by how they interact with water. As such, the products in the collection of wall-hung washbasins, washbasin bowls and bathtubs feature a ribbed texture on the external walls of the basin and a slimline profile that lends them an attractive lightness.

Expressive and minimalist at the same time, Sonar’s design language plays with arcs and angles, emphasizing the slender lines of SaphirKeramik. The extreme hardness of this material is achieved by adding corundum, which is found in sapphire and has the same bending strength as steel. Sonar represents a synthesis of design and functionality.

The collection is the winner of 2018 iF Award and Interior Design’s Best of Year Award 2018. It is available in the Australian market in September 2020.
